Links Medical Centre is transitioning from NHS Lothian Management to a GP Partnership which is planned to take place on the 1st of September. This should not hugely impact patient care as the existing team will remain in place, with six of the existing GPs forming a partnership and having more control and responsibility over the day to day running of the practice. With this comes a new practice name changing to Leith Links Medical Group and an updated website.
The practice phone number will stay the same and the system for making appointments will continue as it is currently by phoning triage at 8am and 2pm. We do plan to make some changes to the appointment system in the near future by opening extended hours for phone appointments with some pre-bookable appointments.
We are also introducing software for improved communication of results and patient information.
Overall, the transition promises to be a positive move and we will keep you updated on any more proposed changes on the website and in the practice. We aim to make the transition as smooth as possible and whilst we do not foresee any disruptions to patient care, we wish to warn you there may be slight delays with prescriptions on and around 1st September and kindly ask for your patience during these few days if this occurs.
